Robert Glen Gilmartin, 86, of Commerce, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at his home in Commerce.  He was born on June 22, 1929 in Ft. Worth, Texas, the son of William Gilmartin and Glenys Worrall GilmartinRobert was born in Ft. Worth, Texas.  After high school, he joined the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.  He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1951.  Robert enjoyed a variety of interests during his life.  He was a professional golfer, during which time he gave lessons to some quite noteable people; among them being Jack Benny and Steve Martin. He was also a jazz drummer and keyboard player.  He had a band that played countless gigs in Dallas, as well as Los Angeles, California. 

Robert is survived by his wife, Lynda; his children, Eric Gilmartin, Christian Gilmartin, Ingrid Alexander and Jacob Lepiarz and his wife, Ashton. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Glenys Gilmartin and his granddaughter, Meghan Gilmartin.
