Kenneth Dale Cummings, 76, of Emory, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Tyler, Texas. Kenneth was born on September 28, 1942 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Virgil Herman Cummings and Gertha Irene Branscum Cummings
Kenneth attended high school in Konawa, Oklahoma. On February 9, 1970 he married the love of his life, Cathy Cupit. Some years later, he owned and operated the Sonic restaurant in Commerce, along with some other locations. Following that venture, he and his wife, Cathy, went into business for themselves. For the next 18 years, they were associated with The Limu Company. This was a big blessing in their lives, affording them some financial independence and the opportunity to make friends with people all over the United States and Canada. They are so thankful for their Limu friends.
When Kenneth wasn’t working on his business, he enjoyed hunting and golf. He also enjoyed traveling. He and Cathy had been all over the United States. They especially enjoyed the eastern coast of the country.
Kenneth is survived by his step-son, Shon Potter and wife, Tracy; grandchildren, Wesley Miller and wife, Montana and Ryan Miller and wife, Victoria; great grandchildren, Henley Miller, Daxton Miller, Brailee Miller, Brillee Arrendondo and Braylon Arrendondo; sister-in-law, Carolyn Bearden; sister, Kathy Cummings; brother, Herman Cummings and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Gertha Cummings; his wife, Cathy; sisters, Doris, Roberta and Barbara and a brother, Charles.
Rev. Mike Eason will officiate. Serving as pallbearers for Kenneth will be Wesley Miller, Ryan Miller, Justin Nabers, Pete Jeremich, Charles Humphries and Brine Bearden. Honorary pallbearers will be The Limu Company.
Services for Kenneth have been entrusted to Commerce Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
