Anthony Garvin Gill

December 8, 1998 — March 5, 2026

Deer Park

Anthony “Rocky” “Stringbean” Gill came into this world on December 8, 1998, born to Samantha Sawyer and Donnie Gill. Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave and the lives he touched will echo for generations.

Anthony leaves behind a family who loved him deeply: his siblings Micheal Sawyer, Michaela Sawyer, Tyler Gill, Shyanne Gill, and Lynn Stewart. He is also survived by his devoted wife, Jess, and their precious son, Wyatt Lee Gill. His love lives on in his nephews, Izik and Felix, and his niece, Elaina, who will grow up hearing stories of the uncle with the big smile and the even bigger heart.

Anthony was a proud iron worker — a man who built more than steel. From Texas to the Dakotas, from Georgia to Michigan, he traveled wherever the work called him. Along the way he left a trail of friendships, laughter, and memories. No matter where he landed, people remembered Anthony for the same thing: that famous warm smile that could make a stranger feel like family.

Music was always close to his heart. If you heard the voice of Conway Twitty playing, chances were Anthony wasn’t far behind, singing along and ready to two-step across the floor. Those moments — full of music, laughter, and boots on the dance floor — are the memories that will forever keep his spirit alive.

But of all the days in his life, none shined brighter than the day he and Jess welcomed their beautiful baby boy into the world. Becoming Wyatt’s father was Anthony’s greatest joy, a moment that filled him with pride and a love deeper than words.

Though Anthony left this world suddenly on March 5, 2026, those who love him know he has not truly gone. His spirit lives in the wind, in the music, in the quiet signs that remind us he is still near. Maybe it’s the snow that fell for Jess the day after he passed, or the feeling of protection when we need it most.

Anthony built bridges of steel in his life, but the strongest bridges he built were between hearts.

And somewhere down a long open road, with a country song playing and the sky stretched wide, we imagine him smiling that same big smile.
