Coeta Ann Sudderth, 67, a resident of Paris, Texas, Passed away at her home on February 28, 2026. Ann was born in Sherman, Texas, to Robert Smith and Joyce Caviness on April 29 1958.
Ann attended Greenville High School Class of 1976. Not long after graduating, she met Philip “Phil” Sudderth. The two were married in 1981 and built a life filled with love and laughter for 26 years until Phil’s passing in December 2007
Ann had many gifts, but above all, she expressed her love through cooking. The kitchen was her happy place, and preparing meals for family and friends was her way of bringing everyone together. She was truly talented and took great joy in passing her knowledge and love of cooking down to her three daughters.
She also had a deep love for gardening and found great happiness in planting flowers and transforming ordinary spaces into bright, colorful retreats. Ann had a natural eye for beauty and creativity. In recent years, she discovered a passion for crafting and quickly developed a talent for it. And when she wasn’t in the kitchen, the garden, or working on a project, she could often be found enjoying a good book.
Ann was an avid animal lover, with a special place in her heart for cats. She cared deeply for every animal she welcomed into her life, showing them the same gentleness and affection she gave so freely to those around her.
Above all else, Ann’s greatest love was her family. She treasured every moment spent together, whether it was a holiday gathering, a simple Sunday afternoon, or an ordinary day made special by being in each other’s company. Creating lasting memories with those she loved brought her immense joy.
She wore the title of “Grandma” with pride and delight. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest blessings, and she never missed an opportunity to share stories about them or show off their latest pictures. Being a grandmother was a role she cherished deeply, and she embraced it wholeheartedly, offering endless love, encouragement, and warmth to each of her grands.
Ann will be remembered for the way she loved without hesitation, wholeheartedly and unconditionally always putting others before herself. She was generous not only with her time and talents, but with her encouragement, kindness, and steady support. Ann gave freely of herself, and the love she shared so openly will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Ann is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Melanie Sudderth, Stephanie Grant and husband Chad Grant II. Her grandchildren: Maxwell, Maygan, Lindsey, Layla, Kimberly, Kaden, Ross, Chad III, and Ryanne. And great-granddaughter Oaklynn. She will also be remembered by her two sisters Tony Hutcherson and Linda Callaway Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her parent’s Robert and Joyce, her husband Phil, her sister Brenda and her daughter Shelley Sudderth Henley.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Commerce Texas.
The Quiet Companion
Soft paws upon the midnight floor,
A gentle nudge against the door.
A purr that hums a quiet tune,
Beneath the watchful, silver moon.
No words are needed, soft or deep,
Just warmth within a shared sleep.
A tiny heart, so wild and free,
Yet shares its love, alone with me.
