Don Morgan

Don Wendell Morgan, of Cumby, TX, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs, TX, with his loved ones by his side. Don was born on December 10, 1936, the son of MJ Morgan and Liza Quary.

Don resided in Cumby for 55 years. He had various occupations over the years, including that of auto technician for Sears, farming, and working for Cumbytel for many years, as well as serving on Cumbytel’s Board. He enjoyed attending Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cumby where he served as a Deacon.

Don loved to travel. He enjoyed vacationing all over Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arkansas, Arizona and California. When he was home, he kept busy by “piddlin’ around the house”, woodworking and building things, “messin’ around in his shop”, fishing, hunting, taking walks, eating cookies and drinking coffee at McDonald’s in Commerce, and riding around with his wife, Delores, and their dog, LadyBug. Don cherished spending time and creating memories with his loving family every chance he got.

Don leaves behind his wife, Delores; son, Michael (wife, Angela); three grandchildren, Alyssa, Erin, and Kaelyn, all of Cumby; sister-in-law Fay Morgan; niece Kristi Morgan Grokett (husband, Kevin); nephew, Bradley; great-nephews, Hunter and Zagary; step-daughter, Cecilia Clemmons (husband, Robert Cline) step granddaughter, Gabrielle Clemmons (fiancé Aaron Rodgers); step grandson, Jerrell Clemmons (fiancé Daisy Baker); great grandchildren, Weslynn, River, Willow, and Wrenly; and stepdaughter, Rita McNabb and step grandson, Willie McNabb.

Preceding Don in death are his first wife, Mamie Morgan, brother Ronnie Morgan, and his beloved dog, LadyBug.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
