Don Allen Rainbolt, 90, a lifelong resident of Commerce, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. He was surrounded by his family in his home that he had lived in for nearly sixty years. Don was born on September 20, 1935, in Commerce, the son of Preston Allen Rainbolt and Faye McCombs Rainbolt.
Don attended Commerce High School, graduating with the class of 1954. On April 11, 1983, he married the love of his life, Susan Huckeba, at a ceremony in Durant, Oklahoma. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage, raising five beautiful children. Don retired from E-Systems after a successful career with the company.
Upon retirement, Don enjoyed playing various sports, as well as practicing his “arm chair quarterback” skills while watching his favorite teams on television. He was an avid golfer, spending countless hours at the course at Sand Hills Country Club. He was also a diamond athlete, playing many baseball games as well as sharpening his coaching skills. His brothers and other friends played in many tournaments together over the years. Don was an enthusiastic fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed cheering (or yelling) for the America’s team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Left to cherish Don’s legacy are his wife, Susan; his children, Rusty Rainbolt and wife, Janice, David Rainbolt, Dede Rainbolt Dozier, Delisa Rainbolt Britt and husband, Paul, Stephanie Jenkins, and husband, Cliff; sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Faye Rainbolt; three brothers, and one sister.
