Glenda Maye Cohea

Glenda Cohea (Westbrook), age 69, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026 at her home in Dallas, where she resided for nearly 50 years. Glenda was born in Wolfe City, Texas on March 4, 1957 to Ruby Mae Marks and Homer Lloyd Westbrook.

On March 30, 1979, she married the love of her life, Thomas Steven Cohea in Dallas and they enjoyed 46 happy years together before his passing in 2025.

She found great joy in gardening and had a special gift for helping things grow. Whether she was planting flowers, nurturing houseplants, or spending quiet moments outdoors, she surrounded herself and others with color, life, and grace. Her garden and the way she lived her life reflected her patience, care, and appreciation for the simple blessings of each day.

Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren. They were a source of happiness in her life, and she cherished every visit, conversation, laugh, and memory made with them.

Glenda is survived by daughters, Christina Castleberry (Jason) of Plevna, Montana and Glenda Mathies of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Justin Castleberry, Savanna Castleberry (Commerce, Texas), Kody Mathies (Dallas, Texas), and Dakota Mathies (Tool, Texas); sister-in-law Mary Westbrook (Bonham, Texas), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by husband, Thomas Steven Cohea; parents, Homer and Ruby Westbrook, and twin brothers, Benny and Bobby Westbrook.

Glenda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and the beauty she brought into the world through the gardens she tended and the plants she cared for so lovingly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
