Don Jose Luis Eulogio Leal-Herrera (Joe), 92, died while surrounded by his family at his home in Commerce on Thursday, January 4, 2018. He was born on September 13, 1925 in Cardenas, Cuba, the son of Don Antonio Plutarco Leal-Castellanos and Dona Luisa Marina Herrera-Hernandez.
Joe was known for being a great cowboy, outstanding horseman and valued salesman. He left good impressions on all who knew him and will always be remembered as “Good ol’ Joe”. He came to the USA as a Cuban refugee in 1966 and lived the remainder of his life, from then forward, as a grateful and dedicated American. He lived out the last of his days with his beloved daughter, son-in-law and grand-daughters on the farm, which was one of his life’s passions.
