Julio Soto-Lopez

Julio Soto-Lopez, residente de Commerce, Texas, falleció el 9 de febrero de 2026 en el Hospital Parkland de Dallas. Julio nació en México el 30 de julio de 1961, hijo de Anselmo Soto y Consuelo López. La visita tendrá lugar de 13:00 a 14:00 horas el sábado 14 de febrero de 2026 en Commerce Funeral Home. Inmediatamente después habrá misa funeral a partir de las 14:00.

Julio se casó con el amor de su vida, Carmen Galván, en Guanajuato, México, en 1987. Un par de años después, Julio y Carmen se mudaron a Commerce, donde vivieron durante 36 años hasta su prematuro fallecimiento. Julio trabajó como paisajista y también poseía muchas habilidades diferentes como manitas. Era un trabajador muy incansable y dejó un legado de ética de trabajo impecable. Julio era miembro de la Iglesia Católica de St. James.

En su tiempo libre, a Julio le gustaba bailar música de su artista favorito, Rigo Tovar. Le encantaba la jardinería, especialmente plantar verduras y flores, y sentía un gran orgullo por cuidar su césped—tanto que en mayo de 2003 le otorgaron el premio al "Mejor Césped" de la ciudad. Le encantaba ver películas de acción, incluyendo westerns y películas bélicas. Julio encontraba alegría y paz en esos placeres sencillos, pero nada significaba más para él que pasar tiempo con sus hijos y nietos. Jugar con ellos, compartir historias y crear recuerdos especiales le traía su mayor felicidad.

Quedan para atesorar su memoria su esposa, Carmen; hijos, Edgar Soto, Julio Soto, Jr., Araceli Soto y Eric Soto. También permanecen sus nietas, Jaelyn Soto-Guzmán y Evelynn Soto-Guzmán; y sus hermanos, Mago Soto, Consuelo Soto, Olga Torres, Anselmo Soto, Cato Soto, Gil Soto, Pedro Soto y Filomena Soto.

Los que precedieron a Julio en la muerte son sus padres; su hija, Angeles Soto-Galvan; y los hermanos Alpilla Soto-López y Juan Soto-López.

Julio Soto-Lopez, a resident of Commerce, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2026 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Julio was born in Mexico on July 30, 1961, the son of Anselmo Soto and Consuelo Lopez. Visitation will take place from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Commerce Funeral Home. A funeral mass will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 pm.

Julio married the love of his life, Carmen Galvan, in Guanajuato, Mexico in 1987. A couple of years later, Julio and Carmen moved to Commerce, where they made their home for 36 years until his untimely passing. Julio worked as a landscaper and also possessed many different skills as a handyman. He was a very hard worker and left behind a legacy of impeccable work ethic. Julio was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

In his spare time, Julio enjoyed dancing to music by his favorite artist, Rigo Tovar. He loved gardening, especially planting vegetables and flowers, and took great pride in caring for his lawn—so much so that he was awarded the city’s “Best Lawn” in May 2003. He loved watching action movies, including westerns and war films. Julio found joy and peace in these simple pleasures, but nothing meant more to him than spending time with his children and grandchildren. Playing with them, sharing stories, and creating special memories brought him his greatest happiness.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carmen; children, Edgar Soto, Julio Soto, Jr., Araceli Soto, and Eric Soto. Also remaining are his grandchildren, Jaelyn Soto-Guzman and Evelynn Soto-Guzman; and siblings, Mago Soto, Consuelo Soto, Olga Torres, Anselmo Soto, Cato Soto, Gil Soto, Pedro Soto, and Filomena Soto.

Those preceding Julio in death are his parents; daughter, Angeles Soto-Galvan; and siblings Alpilla Soto-Lopez and Juan Soto-Lopez.
