Marty Matthew Moreland

Marty Matthew (Mo) Moreland was born January 30, 1970, the son of Earl Moreland and Betty Gay Blankenship. He passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ladonia on June 20, 2025.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home.

Marty was a loving father, brother, PePaw, and one of a kind! He never met a stranger and loved riding his Harley. He never felt more free than when he was on his Harley Davidson riding around and when his sons joined him in riding, it became his most cherished thing to do. Marty could out fish anyone that he ever went fishing with, and there wasn’t a pond/creek/lake that he didn’t catch a fish in. He enjoyed telling his endless fish stories. He could fix anything that needed fixin’ and was the best contractor around. Some of the famous quotes of Marty Mo were “more gooder” and “oh Lord”.

He leaves behind his three children, Ceslie Warner of Ladonia TX, Mathew Moreland and wife Anna Moreland of Sulphur Springs TX, and Lucas Moreland of Ladonia TX. He is also survived by grandsons Grayson Mathew Earl Moreland and Jason Allen Moreland of Sulphur Springs TX.

Others left to cherish his memory are his siblings Jan Clayton, Cindi Wies, Jeff Moreland, and Dallas Blankenship. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews Kevin Putman, Kurtis Putman, Laurie Head, Jamie Clayton, Brandi James, Tiffany Moreland, Payton Moreland, Chaney Moreland, Jessica Abrams, Katie Richey, and Brannon Blankenship.

He is preceded by his parents, his uncle Jimmy “Unc” Smith, his granddaughter Gracie Leota Leann Moreland and niece Tammy Clayton.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers for Marty are Mathew Moreland, Lucas Moreland, Dallas Blankenship, Brannon Blankenship, Robert Warner, Kevin Putman, Luis Putman, Shane Head, Paul Adkins, Terry Dawn (TD), Randy Milem, Jeremy Lunsford, Daniel Riffle, and Klayton Riffle.
