Mary Sue Moble

Mary “Sue” Moble, 86, of Pecan Gap, Texas, passed peacefully on April 26, 2025. She was born on October 24, 1938 in Sherman, Texas to Kathleen and Joe Shelton. Sue spent most of her life in the surrounding suburbs of Dallas where she helped run the family's construction business. Upon retirement, she and her husband Coy settled in Pecan Gap, Texas, where she was known for her warmth, wit, and sharp mind. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen Green and Joe Shelton, her beloved husband, Coy Moble, brother Joede Shelton, sister Jackie Kellogg, and son-in-law Tim Patterson. Sue is survived by her two daughters, Suzy Patterson and Ivory Chenteyl; her granddaughter, Alicia Weatherly and husband Alonso Alvarez Romo de Vivar, her beloved great-grandson, Aren Alvarez Weatherly, sister-in-law Ruth Shelton, niece Theresa Shelton and extended family: daughter Tammy Jackson and husband Jon Mixer; granddaughter Haileigh Quillin and husband Brian Quillin; grandson Justin Bull; and great-granddaughters Kinsleigh and Kayleigh Quillin. 

Sue’s sassiness and adventurous nature led her to live a full life, landing her a stand-in role for Pamela Tiffin in the movie State Fair during her youth and later to become an online sales pioneer, opening one of Ebay’s first shops where she sold and traded Swatch watches. She and Coy doted on their dogs and loved travel, fishing, and later just spending their days making each other laugh. 

She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose generosity, faith, and sense of humor touched everyone around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved. 

A memorial service will be held on June 14, 2025 at 11:00am at Commerce Funeral Home, 1505 Washington St, Commerce, TX, followed by a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. at Luigi’s - one of her and Coy’s favorite places to eat - located at 1615 State Highway 50, Commerce, TX.
