Michael Orin Aikin, 74, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1951, in North Platte, Nebraska, the son of Oren Carl Aikin and Freda Vida Clark Aikin.

Mike was a proud Marine, serving from 1969-1972. He then served in the reserves for two years, until 1974. Following his faithful service, he was honorably discharged. He then entered a career with McDonald Douglas/Boeing. Following retirement, Mike volunteered at Moreno Elementary School in California. He gave over one thousand hours each year performing various tasks. His brainchild began the fitness-focused and patriotic-oriented Moreno Mustang Drill Corps, an after school program promoting a disciplined and uniformed marching group of students. The Corp earned many first-place trophies for their marching formation excellence. Most importantly, Mike was a man of God. He is leaving a legacy of service to others, glory to God and a legacy of love, honor, and sacrifice.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pearl; his son, Christopher Michael Aikin, and wife, Heather; and grandchildren, Jacquelyn Nicole, Joab Gabriel, Brittany Renee, Luke Michael, and Lisa Danielle.
