Commerce

Roberta “Bobbie” Lee Masterson (Hite), 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Commerce, Texas. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Evelyn and Robert “Bob” Hite, Bobbie was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Marjorie Clauson; her brother William “Butch” Hite; her sister Janet Hite; and her grandson Billy Oakey. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Masterson whose family she loved as her own as well; her brother Joseph Hite (Janet); her sister Linda Hurley; her children Loretta Lee (Margaret), Cheryl Laiacone, John Laiacone (Cat), Matthew Laiacone, and Luanne Hanson (David); her grandchildren Andrea, Jeremy, Eric, James, Terrah, Christian, and Daniel; and numerous great-grandchildren, including a special bond with Camilla (Millie), Caleb, Connor, and Arlo.

To know Bobbie was to love her. She had a compassionate heart, an adventurous spirit, and a gift for storytelling. She spent her life caring deeply for those around her, even raising her granddaughter as her own. She was a proud cheerleader for her great-grandchildren’s achievements, a Freecell master, and the maker of unmatched beef jerky and homemade Kahlua.

Bobbie’s love, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
