Sandra "Sandy" Lee Scaramucci Vann of Hapeville, GA, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Commerce, TX. Sandy was born to Albert and Laura Scaramucci in Universal, PA on November 17, 1948. The family relocated to Georgia when Sandy was a child eventually settling in East Point, GA where she graduated from Headland High School. Sandy attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL and The University of Georgia in Athens, GA where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. She later earned a master's in education from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Upon graduation Sandy was a high school English teacher and reading lab coordinator for the Fulton County School System. After leaving teaching in 1984 Sandy became an owner of Avanco Tag and Title Service until retiring in 2021. Sandy was an avid cat lover who also enjoyed literature, traveling, and rooting for her beloved Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Christian and Melissa Howell, her grandchildren, Colt Brock and Katsie Brock, her longtime partner, Homer P. "Pete" Miller, many cousins, and friends who became like family. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Michael Howell and second husband, Roy Vann, her grandson, Braxton Emory Brock, as well as aunts and uncles whom she cared for deeply. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Fairburn United Methodist Church, 5 Washington St. Fairburn, GA 30213. The family will receive visitors at the church starting at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens 5755 Mallory Rd, College Park, GA 30349.
