Wanda Sue King, 81, of Campbell, Texas, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 8, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Felix Lovelace and Opal Hill Lovelace. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home in Commerce.
Wanda attended high school in Irving, Texas, graduating with the class of 1962. Later in life, she began a career in the gun and accessories industry. She set up shop at gun shows all over the area, meeting countless people along the way. In 2009, she met a man in Gunbarrel City, Texas, named Thomas McMackin. He was also in the gun show business and had a booth at the show. A relationship ensued that lasted for fifteen years. Wanda and Thomas made their home in Campbell, Texas.
Wanda was an avid animal lover. It brought her great joy to take care of any animal that needed attention. She and Thomas have a chihuahua named Muffy, a cat named Blacky and a cat named Fat Cat. Wanda loved chicken strips. If it were up to her, she would eat them three times a day, every day! Her absence will be felt by many.
Left to cherish Wanda’s memory are her life partner, Thomas McMackin; her son Dwain Morgan; her brother, George Adamson and his wife, Jo Carol; her two sisters, Ellen Lovelace and Racheal Vogt.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Opal Lovelace, and her aunt, Kathy Savage.
