Anna Marie Knutson, 61, passed away in Dallas after a brief illness, on Monday, February 13, 2023. She was born on December 15, 1961, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, the daughter of Thomas Ray White, and Ruth Ann (Moore) White.
Anna’s family moved to Commerce early in her life. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1980. Following high school, she attended Texas A&M University-Commerce, earning her bachelor’s degree in 1984 and her master’s in 1989. She spent thirty-four years as a teacher and counselor, before retiring in 2018. On January 14, 1984, Anna married Bill Knutson at a ceremony in Commerce, Texas. She and Bill were avid travelers. They enjoyed going anywhere that had beaches. Anna also loved going to New York City. Anna and Bill attended numerous Texas Rangers baseball games and TAMU-C football and basketball games. Anna was involved in the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), a former member of Thalian, which is a service club, and Kappa Delta Sorority.
Left to cherish Anna’s memory are her husband, Bill; her sons, Tommy Knutson and Alex Knutson; her brother, Bruce White and wife, Julie; nieces, Ashley Boylan and Kaitlyn White, a nephew, Chris White, two great nephews, Cole and Ethan, and a great niece, Ella.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Ruth Ann White and her grandmother, Minnie Ruth Moore.
