Bill Kennedy

William Riley (Bill) Kennedy, 83, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in Commerce, Texas.  Bill was born on August 31, 1938, in Commerce, the son of Riley D. Kennedy and Hazel Odom Kennedy. 

Bill attended Commerce High School, graduating with the class of 1957.  During his career, he worked as a bookkeeper for McKnight Construction, which is now D L Lennon.  Later in his life, he was a compassionate and valued caregiver for several families’ loved ones in Commerce.  Bill grew up listening to southern gospel music, as well as country music.  He enjoyed many evenings dancing at his favorite venue in Greenville.  Without question, his greatest passion was spending time with his beautiful daughter, Tina and his granddaughter, Tiffany.

Bill is survived by the mother of his children, Bettie J. Kennedy, his daughter, Tina L. Kennedy (James Crouch), his granddaughter, Tiffany L. Moreland, his grandson, Richard Crouch, and his loving pet, Elli, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He is preceded by his son, Eric A Kennedy, his parents, Riley and Hazel Kennedy, his sisters, Christine K. Cooper, and Geraldine K. Auvenshine, and his in-laws, F.O. Isham and Myrtie (Hudson) Isham.
