Byron M Cassidy, Jr.

Byron Maurice Cassidy, Jr., 70, died following a brief illness on Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.  He was born on March 7, 1950 in Garrett, Texas, the son of Byron Maurice Cassidy, Sr. and Doris Mildred Ramsey Cassidy.  A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Commerce Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery in Timpson, Texas. 

Byron attended high school in Logansport, Louisiana, graduating with the class of 1968.  While in high school, he was active in the band.  He served in the Marine Reserves as a member of the Military Police. Byron then attended Louisiana Tech University, earning a degree in industrial engineering.  He worked for General Dynamics as an engineer for several years. 

Byron is survived by his son, Michael Cassidy and his wife, Rachel; his grandson, Michael Cassidy and his sister, Martha Mertz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron Cassidy and Doris Cassidy.
