Clara Ellen Dawson

Clara Ellen Dawson, 78, of Commerce, passed away from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Sunday, August 20, 2023. She was born on December 5, 1944, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to James O’Grady and Clara McKeever O’Grady.

Clara attended high school in St. Joseph, Missouri. She had many varied hobbies that she enjoyed, such as crafts, reading, bingo, reselling items at vendor booths, and trout fishing. Relationships were important to Clara. Her favorite pastime was her grandchildren and her friends. She loved spending time with them and creating memories together. 

Left to cherish Clara’s memory are her children, Catherine Dawson, of Irving, Karoline Kretzer and husband, Tim, of Commerce, and Ronald Dawson, of Cameron, Missouri; grandsons, Joshua Dawson, Justin Dawson, Ty Dawson, Zach Dawson, Austin Kretzer, Kyle Kretzer, and Kole Kretzer; great grandsons, Bradyn Dawson, and James Dawson; and great granddaughter, Riley Dawson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara O’Grady; brothers, James O’Grady, and Michael O’Grady; grandsons, Treavor Dawson, and Jarrell Dawson.
