Donna Funk

Donna Gwen Funk, 73, of Klondike, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.  She was born on February 28, 1947 in Commerce, Texas, the daughter of Sammie Lee Shropshire and Mildred Lilly Shropshire.

Donna attended Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas.  On December 12, 1964, she married the love of her life, Donald Keith Funk. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before his death in 2015.  Donna later earned her Associates degree and had a long career as a registered nurse until her retirement.  In her spare time, she had many various hobbies. Her first love was quilting.  She truly enjoyed attending quilting shows.  She has collected many quilts that she has made over the years.  She was an accomplished seamstress, as well, making her daughter, Samantha’s, clothes for many years.  She also enjoyed reading.  Stephen King was one of her favorite authors. 

Donna is survived by her children, Donald Keith Funk, Jr., Christopher Wayne Funk and Samantha Leah Funk; her grandchildren, Ashleah Rose Funk and Breanna Noel Funk and a sister, Pam Shropshire.

Preceding Donna in death were her parents, Sammie and Mildred Shropshire, and her husband, Donald Funk.
