Edna Carlyle Cagle

Carlyle (Edna) Cagle, 71, of Commerce, passed away at her home on October 20, 2020. She was born on December 9, 1948, the daughter of C.T. Glen and Elizabeth Glenn.

Edna received her bachelor’s degree in education from East Texas State University. Her teaching career spanned 37 years, making an impact on hundreds of students along the way. She married the love of her life, Michael R. Cagle, on August 1, 1974. They enjoyed 47 years of making memories and raising their daughters, JoAnna and Katy. During her free time, she enjoyed a variety of activities, such as traveling, gardening, reading, and dirt bike riding.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael; her daughters, JoAnna Cagle, Katy Waite (husband Joseph) and her honorary daughter, Emily Thompson; grandson, Jacob Waite; her sister, Kristi Heeth (husband William); nieces, Kelly Berquist (husband Josh), and Jessica Heeth; grand- nephew, Aaron Berquist.

Edna was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Glenn, her father, C.T. Glenn, and her brother, C.T. Glenn.
