James Wayne McSwain

The memorial service for James has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Commerce Funeral Home Chapel.

James Wayne McSwain, 56, of Commerce, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, February 5, 2021.  He was born in Houston, Texas on March 28, 1964, the son of Phillip McSwain and Wanda Sue Campbell Bomer. 

James attended Aldine High School in Aldine, Texas.  He worked in the HVAC business until his retirement.  He and his step-father, Jerry, then built a fencing business.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing anywhere he could find to cast a line.  He also enjoyed cars, admiring the many different models he favored.

James is survived by his partner of 15 years, Brenda Davis; his mother, Wanda Bomer; his brother, Steven McSwain; his children, Teresa Moore and husband, Ryan, Jamie Hudson and husband, Travis, Joseph McSwain and wife, Navia, and his grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Samuel, Daniel, Abigail, Dylin and Jose.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jerry Bomer.
