James Lester Parrish

James Lester Parrish, 85, formerly of Commerce, passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.  He was born in Durham, Texas on November 26, 1935, the son of Millard Parrish and Lucille Cain Parrish.

James attended Wolfe City High School, graduating with the class of 1954.  He married the love of his life, Nelda Raye Kelley, in 1955. James worked as a machinist at Peerless Mfg. for 35 years. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting flea markets in his free time. 

James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nelda; his sons, Tony Parrish and wife Stephanie, of Lee’s Summit, MO, David Parrish and wife, Deane of Mesquite, TX. Brothers Jerry Parrish of Canton, Texas, Billy Parrish of Mineola, Texas, Four granddaughters and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by parents, Millard and Lucille Parrish of Commerce, His son, Ronnie Parrish of Dallas, and his brother, Dwight Parrish of Lindale, TX.
