Kenneth Foust Obituary

Kenneth Aubrey Foust, 83, of Commerce passed away following a lengthy illness on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. He was born on August 13, 1938, in Saltillo, Texas, the son of Merrel F. Foust and Jeanette Marie Kyzer Foust. The family will receive friends at a visitation to take place on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Commerce Funeral Home. Kenneth’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at Commerce Church of Christ, with Jay Garrett and Steve Watkins officiating.

He began his college career right away, earning his BBA in 1960 from East Texas State College. He completed a double major in Finance/Economics and Accounting.  Kenneth served his country in the United States Army. Following an honorable discharge from the service, he worked as a Certified Public Accountant. Over thirty of those 50 plus years were spent owning and operating his own CPA firm in downtown Commerce. Kenneth was a member of several professional organizations during his career. Those included the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also served as president of the Texas A&M Commerce Chapter of the Alumni Association and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Kenneth was also a member of the local chapter of  Boy Scouts of America, and was an Eagle Scout.

Kenneth had many interests. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his friends, collecting classic cars, traveling, and reading.  Kenneth would often be seen driving his El Comino, which was always in pristine condition, around town.  He also had a special love for elephants and was able to travel to South Africa to see and photograph them in their natural habitat.
