Larry Michael Binion

Larry Michael Binion, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He was surrounded by his wife of 47 years, Nancy, their three children, and other close family members as he completed his earthly journey.

Larry was born April 16, 1946, in Sayre, Oklahoma, but spent his youth, adolescence, and early adulthood in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He moved to Dallas, TX in 1973 to attend preacher school, which led him to meet the love of his life, Nancy. They eloped February 3, 1975 and would be by each other’s side for nearly half a century. Together, they had three children, Annie, Toby, and Nicholas, ten grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

Larry was a man of diverse talents and abilities. He was first and foremost a devoted Christian. A man whose faith could move mountains, his dedication inspired and encouraged many. He was also a high school special ed teacher, beloved by his students. After he retired, he spent several years as a substitute. He loved his students very much, and they loved him. They affectionately dubbed him “the elbow man.” Larry also served in the Army National Guard, amassing twenty years of service.

Larry was one of a kind; a man who will be loved and sorely missed by everyone who was privileged enough to know him. His personality was larger than life. He always had a smile on his face. He was always glad to see you and had a hug and a joke for everyone he met. His sense of humor kept everyone grinning. The light in his eyes alone could brighten a dark room. He always put God first in his life, himself last, and everyone else in between. He was the humblest man you’ve ever met. He was a good and faithful servant all of his life. Well done!
