Leslie "Les" Miles Obituary

Leslie Taylor Miles, 95, of Ladonia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was born on May 6,1926 in Como, Mississippi, the son of Leslie Miles and Clara-Mai Taylor Miles. Shortly after high school, Les enlisted in the United States Navy, obtaining the rank of Seaman Second Class. He was honorably discharged on May 14, 1946. Following his service, he began a career with Texas Instruments as a sheet metal worker. His career with TI lasted 40 years. Les and his wife Winnie were proud members of the First Baptist Church in Commerce. Les was known for his eloquent prayers, which were a blessing to all who knew him. When he prayed, he was truly speaking to his heavenly Father, who he knew very well. Les enjoyed many years in retirement. He continued to serve in various capacities in his church. He spent a great deal of time working around his property, tending to his garden and the house. Les is survived by his sons, Danny Miles and Ricky Miles and wife, Sallie; grandchildren, Sara and husband, Kevin and Lucas and his wife, Kim; great grandchildren, Charlotte, Allie Sooter, and husband, Khale, great-great grandchildren, Lane Sooter and Luke Sooter; and a surrogate daughter, Kathy Brewer. Les was preceded in death by his wife, Winnie Miles.
