Lynda Beth Hammack, 86, of Commerce, passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. Lynda was born on June 13, 1936, in Spur, Texas, the daughter of Jack C. Day and June Squires Day.
Lynda was a very creative person. She loved to knit and crochet. She headed up the Prayer Shawl ministry at First Baptist Church for many years. She also enjoyed writing short stories. She truly enjoyed going to the theater and the symphony. A group of senior adults often rode the church bus to concerts that took place all over the area. Above all, her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish Lynda’s memory are her sons, Jimmie Hammack and wife, Penny and Mike Hammack; her grandchildren, Madison Allbritton and husband, Jeremy, Emily Davidson and husband, Ryan, Sarah Garner and husband, Zac, Jordan Hammack, Anthony Hammack, Faith White, Shelby Hammack, Chris Simpson, and Daphney Jennings; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Rhyder and Everly Allbritton, Levi Davidson, Aurora, Benjamin and William Garner, Elijah Hammack, Machan and Sorrin Hammack, and Logan and Rose Jennings.
She is preceded by her parents, Jack and June Day, and brothers, David Day and John Day.
