Sara Marie Yates

Sara Breakiron Yates passed away on May 26, 2020 after a battle with lung cancer.  Sara was born in Commerce, Texas on December 3, 1955 to Jack and Mary Etta Breakiron.

Sara attended Commerce High School and later Trend Business College in Oregon.  She was in customer service for Salem Electric and Farmers Electric Co-op.  She loved family gatherings and her grand kids.  Sara was of the Catholic faith but attended Mt. Zion Church the last few years of her life.

Sara is survived by her husband of 19 years, R.L. Yates, Jr.; daughters, Samantha Down and husband, Ben, Katie O’Conner and husband, Kevin; sons, Lee Nelson and wife, Christie, Russel Nelson and wife, Maddy, Perry Yates and Wayne Yates; three sisters, Loyola Walker, Rita Granger and Ruse Ann Regal; grandchildren, Grayson, Dayton, Brayden, Dylan, Scarlet, Gunner and Ezra. 

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary Etta Breakiron, brothers, Thomas Breakiron and Perry Breakiron, and sisters, Elaine Pierce and Loretta Doskosil.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on October 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Commerce Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
