John C Lamb passed away August 13, 2016 in Mesquite, Texas, his home for 58 years.

He was born in Paris, Texas,  November 29, 1931.  He grew up in Cooper, where he graduated from Cooper High School.  John C had a paper route, hauled hay, worked at his parent's cafe and at his father's lumber yard.  John was a hard worker and provider his entire life.  John loved sports and lettered in football three years.  He loved baseball and track.

John C attended East Texas Teachers College for a year until duty called to serve his country at the onset of the Korean War.  John C loved his country.  Being too young to serve in WWII, he couldn't wait to register for the draft.  He joined to the US Navy in 1951 and served as a Machinist Mate on the USS Hyman, DD 732.  The Hyman participated in shore bombardment and carrier protection in the waters off of Wonsan, Korea.

The Hyman circumnavigated the world and John had the opportunity to visit many great cities , man-made and natural wonders.  He additionally served on the USS Denacola until the time of his discharge in 1955.  John C loved the Navy and the opportunities it afforded to develop his mechanical and engineering skills.  He was an active member in the USS Hyman Association.  He contributed generously to Veteran causes and was a TRUE PATRIOT.

John C moved to Dallas and worked as a building engineer at the Adolphus Hotel for 5yrs.  In 1960, he was employed a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas as building engineer. John earned his master electrician and refrigeration licenses while working multiple shifts and jobs.  John C was a hard worker and did whatever necessary to provide for his family.  John managed the function for many years before retiring in 1998.

Above all else, John C married his childhood sweetheart, Frances Phillips on June 7, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Cooper.  Frances passed away in 1997.   Until this day,  John C professed his love for Frances to all that would listen. "Frances was an Angel on Earth.  She was the very best partner any man could ask for . She put everyone ahead of herself and somehow tolerated me for 45 years. "

Today, John C is in heaven with his beloved Frances, his loved ones and our Sweet Lord, Jesus Christ.

John was preceded in death by his beloved Frances, his mother and father - Margie and Howard Lamb,  Brother Thomas Howard Lamb, and grandson Clint Barlow.

He is survived by his son Jon Thomas Lamb and daughter in-law Connie Lamb, his daughter Kathy Barlow, grandchildren Courtney Lamb, Julianne Lamb, Haley Lamb Ware, Jonathon Ware, Clay Barlow, and great-granddaughter Hadley Kate Ware.

A graveside service was held at Rosemound Cemetery.
