Welcome to the memorial page for

Amy E Doster

July 21, 1965 ~ November 16, 2017 (age 52) 52 Years Old

Amy Chapin Doster, 52 years old, died on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at her home in Commerce, Texas with her son Ethan Doster at her side, after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer for the past 12 months.  Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through this battle, but it was the love for her son Ethan that gave her the most strength.

Amy was born on July 21, 1965 in Greenville, Texas to Eddie Jack Chapin and Charlotte Chapin and lived a majority of her life in Commerce.  After graduating from Commerce High School in 1983, Amy went on to obtain a cosmetology degree and was the owner and operator of Amy’s Cost Cutters for over 20 years.  Throughout her life she maintained a demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith.  Her signature gift of joy and compassion, shown through her constant smiling and laughter, will never be forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her father, Eddie Jack Chapin, her mother, Charlotte Chapin and her beloved nephew Richy Iles.  She is survived by her son Ethan Doster of Commerce, Texas, brother Eddie Jack Chapin, Jr., her nephew Evan Chapin, both from Commerce, Texas and her sister Carin Chapin from Dallas, TX.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Church of Christ, 1900 Culver Street in Commerce, Texas at 11:00 a.m. with David Gibson officiating.   Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral services on Monday morning. Graveside services will follow at Rosemound cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her mother.  Pallbearers are Shea Arrington Shaw, Jerry McDaniel, Eddie Smith, Terry Harris, Joe Davis, Jim Donald Adkins.  Serving as honorary pallbearer is Gerald Hubbard.

May this obituary be a tribute to her memory, which will be carried on in the legacy of love which is now in each of us – the lives touched by her love.
