Was so blessed to know you and learn from you. Such a pure soul. You will be missed. So sad to learn of your passing.

Although our paths did not cross often, I still count Michael among my long-time friends here on campus. His artistic creations both challenged us to think and made the world a better place to be in. It's hard to believe that I won't see him again :-(

Michael - you were such a good neighbor - loved seeing you sitting on your front steps.

I remember taking his class in contemporary art over 10 years ago. Most of my classmates thought he was too rough around the edges but I saw how he inspired us to do better. I remember one day during a critique he saw someone yawn, stopped everything and threw a pen or pencil at them! I guess he respected his students enough to make them respect one another too. He was a good teacher who just wanted his students to realize their full potential. ( even if he did remind me a little me of Dr. House ).
So sad to hear of his passing. Prayers for the family.

I have been searching for something all day to say it isn't true. You aren't supposed to be gone. You are like the super heroes, and they live forever.
I hope that I told you enough how much you meant to me... as a teacher, a mentor, and as a friend. You allowed me to grow as an artist and a person more than anyone else in my life. And I am afraid I didn't tell you this. I know you will not see this but in some crazy way I hope you do.
I speak of you often.
Just the other day I spoke of you to a friend... referring to my most influential mentor during school. I'm so sorry I let life stop me from coming to say hello more often. I know that you never needed me, but I needed you and I just want to say thank you for being the person you are.
And I love you.
There is a beautiful mark painted on my soul... and it was made by you.
Rest in Peace sweet friend, inspiring mentor, but mostly beautiful man that accepted life as a gift and in turn showed me how to live the most lovely life possible.
I am forever grateful.
